Southern California Road Trip
I’m always up for a good road trip. We rented a car and hopped on the road to Joshua Tree National Park. We flew into Las Vegas. A desolate drive through the Mojave National Preserve. Whenever we saw a gas station we made sure we stopped for gas. It would not be a nice spot to run out – we didn’t see many cars.
Once we arrived at Joshua Tree National Park, it was almost like being in another world. A mix of Mars and some alien planet. It was such a unique experience.
We stayed in a clay dome hut, right on the boarder of Joshua Tree National Park. We could walk to rock formations and watch the sunrise and sunset. Just awesome!
After three days of exploring Joshua Tree, we hopped on the road again and ventured to the San Diego area (about a 3 hour drive). A few of my favorite things we did in the San Diego area:
- Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve – a lot of beautiful hiking trails
- La Jolla Cove
- Ocean Beach
- The Cat Café 🙂
- Coronado Beach
There is so many great things to experience in Southern California – most of them outside of any major city.
